The problem
Poor mental health such as anxiety, depression and self harm is often caused by emotional distress and lead to negative feelings and emotions that can become overwhelming.
Parents can find it extremely difficult to get help for their young person . . .
Many mental health care systems are in turmoil with the NHS waiting list for CAMHS up to 3 years long and private therapy can be expensive and difficult to access.
Delays in treatment causes young people’s mental health to deteriorate considerably and cause chronic problems into adulthood if left untreated.
Medication is often prescribed which may alleviate the symptoms of distress but they don't address the cause so the problem often re-occurs.
Supporting the whole family
There will be times in life when emotional distress is unavoidable and where there is worry and concern about your child's mental health it can put a significant strain on family relationships. It affects all family members emotionally and in other ways.
It is how we learn to cope with these events that will shape our mental health and that of our children.
LOHA will provide your family with the tools and insights to truly help your child to better emotional wellbeing and teach them skills to have good mental health that lasts a lifetime.
